We just returned from a one-night stay at Marvilla, and we are already planning to go back again for a longer visit. Lots to see and do nearby. We enjoyed having a beer at The Barley Oak, overlooking the lake, and had a wonderful dinner at La Provence. We especially enjoyed meeting the one-eyed cat at Marvilla; he was such a sweetie! Thanks, Michael, for a relaxing stay!

What a great weekend. Michael could not have been more relaxed, accommodating, and hands-off. We were grateful to get in with less than a week's notice and thrilled to be able to borrow bikes for a day on the Trace before an amazing dinner nearby. Thanks so much!

"What a wonderful guest house, so clean and such magnificent ambiance. I can't say enough about Michael, who went above and beyond making my 70th birthday a hugh success, not to mention my husband who planned the trip. The red and yellow roses and bottle of wine to greet me were just perfect. We will go again soon and plan to return for my birthday next year. Don't miss Mar-villa Guest House in Mandeville, Louisiana."

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here several months ago! Michael, the owner, was nice enough to let us use his bike because our bike was at the shop. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great location, nice room, quaintness, and a friendly owner!

I can only agree with all of the above. We had a delightful day in Mandeville and the guest house is fabulous. Clean, nice guests and Michael is great. We were there 10/24/11.

Originally we booked to stay at Marvilla for 2 nights after reading great reviews from other guests. The great reviews were perfectly accurate! The rooms are of high standard and the balconies are perfect for chilling in the evening with a little drink (or two). We ended up staying longer due to a hurricane hitting the east coast and delaying our flights, however this was the perfect excuse to enjoy the accommodation and this area of Louisiana further. Many great sites are within only a short drive, with New Orleans being only 30 mins away.

A bonus with regards to Marvilla is Michael, the owner. He is such a sound guy. He gives the place a really relaxed feel and is able to give advice as to sites and restaurants, etc. We spent a number of nights sat having a drink (or two) with him. Great company. We hope to go back in the future.

Mandeville itself is a stunningly beautiful, gem of a place. I only wish we could live there!

Words do not allow me to do this place justice. Just go!

Date of Stay: 25th Aug - 31st Aug

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Mar Villa guest house this past weekend. I have stayed in some really nice hotels, but this by far was the nicest place we have ever stayed at. The man who owns it was very nice and helpful! Very sweet man. The room was very quiet and romantic. The little details that the room had was just enough to make it perfect! The tub was an old style tub that was to die for!! The room at a front cozy porch and a small back porch. This is officially my favorite place to stay at, and we will be back many times. It was walking distance to a place called the Broken Egg and Nouvalari's where we ate dinner. If I could give this a five star I would. !! Best place to stay at! Don"t miss the opportunity to not experience such a rare place to stay at!!!

We stayed one night and wished we hadn't made reservations in New Orleans for the following day so we could have stayed longer. Everything at the Marvilla Guest House was what we were hoping for when we left home for a few days of rest and relaxation. We will be coming back again.

My husband and I stayed on the North Shore for one night in May before traveling to New Orleans for a wedding. The Marvilla Guest House was just what we had in mind. Mandeville was a wonderful town with a nice lake shore drive and beautiful historic homes. The guest house was so relaxing and lovely with great character. The owner Michael was very friendly and helpful, also very considerate of our space and privacy allowing us to come and go as we pleased. We only stayed one night, but wished it could have been longer! Relaxing, romantic, and comfortable...we hope to return!!
